    E-Verify expires during government shutdown

Authored by Bukaty Companies on January 4, 2019

Due to the government shutdown, employers across the country are unable to complete E-Verify checks for new employees to confirm if they’re eligible to work in the United States. Employers will be unable to access their E-Verify accounts; enroll in the program; create, view or act on any case; add, delete or edit accounts; reset passwords, edit company information, terminate accounts, or run reports.

DHS has announced the three-day rule for creating E-Verify cases has been suspended for cases affected by the inability to access E-Verify services.

Today marks the 14th day of the government shutdown. We will keep you updated as progress is made with negotiations on Capitol Hill for reopening the government, and essential services such as E-Verify.
