Authored by Bukaty Companies on May 19, 2025

Effective July 1, 2025, Aetna will no longer cover Zepbound, a GLP-1 medication used for weight management. Both Wegovy and Saxenda will continue to be covered. The change is estimated to create year-over-year client savings of 10 to 15 percent within this medication classification.

Aetna also announced two biosimilars, Pyzchiva and Yesintek, will be covered for the treatment of certain autoimmune disorders.

For those managing diabetes, Aetna will continue to cover Accu-Check strips and kits and will add True Metrix strips and kits. OneTouch test strips and kits will be no longer be covered.
