# Ongoing Cigna and HCA Midwest Health network negotiations

Cigna is in active negotiations with HCA Midwest Health ahead of their expiring contract. HCA Midwest Health providers were recently sent a [letter](https://insights.bukaty.com/hubfs/2026/2026%20Carrier%20Notices/HCA%20Midwest%20Health%20Potential%20Termination%20Exclusive%20Privilege%20Provider%20Letter.pdf) notifying them of the potential impact of failed negotiations. The current contract is set to expire on May 1, 2026. Members will receive a letter notifying them of the negotiation status 30 days prior to the contract expiration.

The following hospitals may be impacted:

- Belton Regional Medical Center
- Menorah Medical Center
- Cass Regional Medical Center
- Overland Park Regional Medical Center
- Centerpoint Medical Center
- Research Medical Center
- Lafayette Regional Health Center
- Research Medical Psychiatric Center
- Lee's Summit Medical Center
- Menorah Medical Center

While negotiations are expected to continue up to the deadline, both parties remain optimistic about reaching an agreement. A short-term contract extension is also likely if additional time is needed to finalize terms.
