Retail Telehealth provides online access to medical care

Authored by Bukaty Companies on June 29, 2016

Convenient medical attention is now available via smartphones, tablets or computers through a new mobile app available to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (BlueKC) members.

To get started, members need to download the mobile app or visit Amwell.com and create an account using their BlueKC account information.

With Retail Telehealth, members can take care of most common medical issues like colds, flu, fever, rash, abdominal pain, sinusitis, pinkeye, ear infection, migraines and more. It’s free to enroll and members will never pay more than $39 per visit (members will pay their Urgent Care copay if it is less than $39).

Retail Telehealth is not available to South Carolina ASO groups and Medicare Advantage members. To promote this service, BlueKC has developed materials for employer use, including a Quick Guide, flyer, and poster.
