The [Consolidated Appropriations Act](https://www.congress.gov/116/plaws/publ260/PLAW-116publ260.pdf) (CAA) of 2021 is about to transform the health insurance and health care industries.

Its major components – the [No Surprises Act](https://insights.bukaty.com/no_surprises_act) and other patient protections – will require medical plans, plan sponsors and medical providers to be more transparent about the cost of care.
