Gravie to adopt new pharmacy benefit manager in 2026

Authored by Bukaty Companies on October 15, 2025

Starting January 2026, Gravie is partnering with Express Scripts by Evernorth as the carrier’s new pharmacy benefit manager (PBM). This new partnership will create opportunities for savings and introduce new member-facing price transparency tools. The change impacts all Gravie groups and health plans, regardless of type or renewal date.

What this means

  • Pharmacy coverage for all members will transition from CVS Caremark to Express Scripts, including formulary coverage, specialty pharmacy, prior authorizations, and mail-order services.
  • All members will receive new ID cards with Express Scripts details before the end of 2025. Members should share their updated card with their pharmacy to keep records current and avoid delays when filling prescriptions.
  • Most pharmacies currently in-network with CVS will continue to be in-network with Express Scripts.
  • Members will continue to have access to a specialty pharmacy and copay assistance program through Express Scripts. Accredo Specialty Pharmacy and SaveOnSP will replace CVS Specialty Pharmacy and PrudentRx.
  • Gravie will honor all previously approved prior authorizations through their original termination date provided by CVS, with the exception of formulary exclusions.
  • Members will now be able to access their pharmacy benefit details through Gravie’s member portal and mobile app.

The PMB change coincides with changes to drug tiers and coverage for medications.

Gravie also announced groups using the Cigna PPO network will transition to the Cigna Open Access Plus (OAP) network at renewal in 2026. Access to the OAP network generally equates to improved provide discounts, helping employers better manage cost.
