Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) has added a new resource for members in need of a helping hand. The Blue KC Community Support Tool aggregates free and reduced-cost social service programs for those needing food, housing, transit, legal and other types of support.
Members enter their zip code and then select the needed service. The site serves as an information warehouse providing a summary of the service, hours of operation, contact information and requirements to qualify for available financial assistance.
An informational flyer summarizes the tool’s features and is designed to be shared by email or posted in employee areas. A quick-response (QR) code on the flyer can be scanned using a cellular phone and provides immediate access to the site. The service is free of charge.
