Blue KC is updating their prescription drug list, as well as opening a new Spira Care location in Independence, Missouri.
Effective July 1, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) will implement updated prescription drug lists for Preferred and Premium formularies. Group members with Blue-Care (HMO), BlueSelect Plus (PPO), Preferred-Care (PPO) and Preferred-Care Blue (PPO) plans will be impacted. However, there may be group-specific exclusions.
Blue KC will send letters to impacted employer groups. Affected members will be notified by Blue KC via phone or email.
In other Blue KC updates for those in Spira Care plan options, the ninth Spira Care location is slated to open in Independence, Mo., in late 2022/early 2023. Spira Care centers are designed to support a full array of primary care services under one roof at no or low out-of-pocket cost.
