Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) now offers a new app, called Blue KC Virtual Care, for online health care visits. With the app, members can schedule a video visit with a physician for sick care needs and a behavioral health therapist for mental health needs.
Blue KC Virtual Care is live now and will replace the Amwell app. Members can register for the service at bluekcvirtualcare.com or download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. When registering, Spira Care and Spira Care (HSA Eligible) members should use the service key SPIRA, as their costs vary from standard virtual health appointments.
Amwell virtual visits to end
Blue KC recommends that members currently using Amwell should download Blue KC Virtual Care. Members who have previously used Amwell will receive this email for more information on the transition. Currently, members using the Amwell app may see charges of $69 for urgent care visits regardless of their typical cost with member benefits; to address any incorrect bills, members should email virtualcare@bluekc.com.
